March 21, 1928 — July 7, 2020
Joseph A. Ricci, of Farmington Hills, entered eternal life at home on Tuesday morning, July 7, 2020. He was 92, and in declining health for some time.
Joe was born March 21, 1928, in Dickson City, PA, to the late John and Anna (Angelini) Ricci. He married Geraldine J. "Gerri" Witkowski on June 25, 1949, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Dickson City, and together they enjoyed over 71 years of marriage. Joe served his country in the U.S. Navy and retired from Ford Motor Co. as Director of Quality Control.
In addition to his wife, surviving are five children, Jay (Sharon), Grace VanDuinen, Paul (Holly), Cindy (Russ) Taggart, and Jeff; cherished grandfather of Mark (Laura) Ricci, Alli (Andrew) Hawkins, Bryan (Hannah) VanDuinen, Chris (Georgia) Ricci, Steve (Amy) Ricci, Mike Ricci, Colin (Shannon) Taggart and Heather (Scott) Porter; and great-grandchildren, Olivia and Isabel VanDuinen, Josephine, Roman and Caroline Ricci, and Dominic, Connor and Hope Taggart. Sadly, Joe was preceded in death by a son, John, in 1978, and siblings, Florence Policiccio, Edward (Rosemary) Ricci and Ronald (Katie) Ricci.
The Ricci family will receive guests at the funeral home on Friday, July 10th, from 2-8 pm, with 7 pm prayers.
Joe's funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday morning, July 11th, at 10:00 am (in state 9:30 am) Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 23615 Power Rd., Farmington.
Interment, including military funeral honors, will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes are suggested to Right to Life Michigan .
