Age 79, died October 9, 2012. Eleanor was born January 7, 1933 in Detroit, the daughter of William J. and Mary (Fowler) Simpson. Eleanor is the beloved wife of the late Robert (d. 2002); devoted mother of Robert, Erich, Christine (the late Ted) Anselmo and Raymond; cherished grandmother of Amber; and dear sister of Margaret Chee, James Simpson and John Simpson. In addition to her husband, Eleanor was preceded in death by siblings, Kay Casse, Mary McGrath, Billy Simpson and Trudy Castonguay. Eleanor's family will receive guests at the funeral home on Friday, October 12, from 2-8 pm, with 7 pm prayers. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, October 13th, at 10:00 am (in state 9:30 am) at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 23615 Power Rd., Farmington. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield, will follow Mass. Memorial gifts are suggested to the Society of St. Vincent DePaul at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, or for Masses.
