Virginia R.
Borowski, "Ginny"
Nov 10, 1943 — May 22, 2026
Troy
Virginia "Ginny" Borowski, born November 10, 1943, in Detroit, Michigan, and a beloved matriarch whose warmth touched countless lives, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026. The eldest of four children, Ginny graduated from Southfield High School before embarking on a devoted romance with "Honest Dave" Borowski that blossomed into a steadfast partnership spanning 56 beautiful years. Her life was a testament to quiet strength and boundless affection, as she poured her heart into family, community, and the quiet art of nurturing others.
With unwavering devotion, Ginny raised her three children—Michael, Gail, and Christine—creating a home rich in love, laughter, and shared adventures. Sports events, family camping trips, and art shows filled their formative years, while her natural leadership shone through years of dedicated service to Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and the PTA. In every role, she offered gentle guidance and steadfast support, shaping young hearts with the same tenderness she showed her own family, leaving an indelible mark of compassion and encouragement.
Ginny's profound commitment to children and education found its truest expression in her distinguished career as an educator. Beginning as a paraprofessional, she later earned her Bachelor's degree and became a Career Development Facilitator at Southfield High School. There, she inspired hundreds of students to discover their passions and pursue their dreams, earning the admiration of pupils and parents alike. Her computer lab was a sanctuary of possibility, where her wisdom and empathy transformed lives and kindled futures.
In retirement, Ginny and Dave savored travels near and far, home improvements that reflected their shared vision, and the simple joys of family life. A dedicated home chef, ardent supporter of the arts and theater, and loyal friend, she also cherished her spirited Bingo sessions in Windsor, Canada, and the thrill of casinos around the world.
Above all, she adored every moment with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her laughter a cherished melody that will echo in their hearts forever. Ginny will be profoundly missed, yet her legacy of love, leadership, and lifelong learning endures as a guiding light for all who knew her.
Ginny was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, David.
