Obituary

Vincent Pylar, age 65, of Farmington Hills, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 1, 2025, at Angela Hospice, surrounded by the love of family.

Vince was born on August 29, 1959, in Detroit, son of Stanley and Irene (Balasia) Pylar. He grew up with strong values of faith, family, and service—principles that would guide his entire life.

On June 28, 1986, Vince married the love of his life, Christine Stowe, at St. Edith Catholic Church in Livonia. Their union was one of deep love, shared purpose, and quiet strength.

Vince devoted nearly 40 years to his work as a plumber at Providence Hospital in Southfield, where his skills and reliability were deeply valued. Known for his mechanical intuition and broad knowledge of the trades—plumbing, electrical, and general craftsmanship—Vince was often the first call for friends, family, and neighbors needing help. He served others not out of obligation but out of pure generosity and kindness. Whether fixing a furnace, unclogging a drain, or building something by hand, Vince gave freely of his time and talent, always putting others first.

He was an avid bowler and a proud outdoorsman who found joy and peace in hunting and fishing. Nature was his sanctuary, and he loved passing on that passion to others. He also had a gift for teaching and found fulfillment in sharing what he knew—whether it was a plumbing trick or a lesson learned through life experience.

Vince was a longtime and faithful member of St. Alexander Catholic Church in Farmington Hills, where he worshiped for many years until its closing.

Vince is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Christine; son, Ryan (Morgan) Pylar; daughter, Gillian (Alban Shekaj) Pylar; siblings, Stanley (Connie) Pylar, Roseann (Frank) Foltyn, Arlene (Dennis) Foltyn and Marilyn (the late Mike) Sandoval; sisters-in-law, Cindy Stowe and Karen Stowe; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Sadly, Vince was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Richard Bastianelli and brother-in-law, Daniel Stowe.

Vince's family will receive guests on Saturday, August 9, from 1-5pm, with a 3pm Rosary and sharing of memories, at the funeral home.

Memorial tributes are suggested to CARES of Farmington Hills .

Vincent will be remembered as a man of quiet strength, deep generosity, and humble service. His absence leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
