We are sad to announce the passing of our mother, Therese Mary Gibes (nee Harbus) at the age of 91. She lived in Farmington Hills for over sixty years with her loving husband Stanley in their home that Stanley built in 1956. He preceded her in death in 2008 after 56 years of marriage.

Loving mother of Rita Gibes (Larry) Grossman and Richard (Debbie) Gibes and beloved grandmother of Leah and Jenna Grossman and Carmen (Nick) Geers. She was preceded in death by her parents and five siblings. A beloved aunt to her nieces and nephews, she was the matriarch of the family for many years.

A retired nurse, a tireless volunteer for her parish, Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, and a caring, dear friend and neighbor to many, she will be missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held at the Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home, 23720 Farmington Rd, downtown Farmington, on Thursday, October 13, 2022, from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM, with a prayer service at 7:00 PM.

Instate on Friday, October 14, 2022, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 23815 Power Road, Farmington from 9:30 AM until the funeral liturgy which begins at 10:00 AM.

Interment will take place at St. Nicholas Cemetery, Pellston, Michigan.

Memorial donations may be made to Angela Hospice , the American Heart Association or Mother and Unborn Baby Care.
