Terrence Raymond
Curtis
Oct 20, 1943 — Apr 19, 2026
New Hudson
Terrence "Terry" Curtis passed away peacefully on April 19, 2026, at the age of 82, following a brave battle with cancer and dementia. He was at home, surrounded by his loving family.
Terry was the devoted husband of Barbara, with whom he shared 60 beautiful years of marriage. The two were married at St. Suzanne's in Detroit and built a life filled with love, laughter, and simple joys. Together, they especially enjoyed sharing desserts—his favorites being ice cream, fruit tortes, tea cookies and anything chocolate.
He was a proud and dedicated worker for 43 years at the Ford Motor Company's Michigan Truck Plant. Outside of work, Terry found peace and happiness in gardening, particularly growing vegetables. He was deeply proud of his Irish heritage and carried that spirit with him throughout his life.
Terry will be remembered for his thoughtful and heartfelt nature and quick smile. He had a special gift for writing beautiful cards, always finding the perfect words for any occasion. His kindness and sincerity touched everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Barbara; his loving children, Jackie Bogert (Thad) and Brian Curtis (April); grandchildren, Brandon and Avery; step-grandchild, Hailey; and his brother, Michael (Sue). He was preceded in death by his brothers, Phillip (Christine), Joseph (Carol), and Patrick (Donna).
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, May 5, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home.
Terry's Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday morning, May 6, at 10:00 a.m., with Terry lying in state at 9:30 a.m., at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 23615 Power Rd., Farmington.
In Remembrance of Terry, the family's charities of choice are the following:
Blessed Father Solanus Casey Capuchin Center and Dominican Cloistered Nuns at the Sacred Heart Monastery in Farmington Hills — both of whom received our healing prayer requests and faithfully prayed for him throughout the years of his illness.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
