Tami C. Wayne, age 42, of Farmington Hills, passed away at home on Thursday, April 11, 2024, after a brief battle with cancer.
Tami Colleen Spencer was born January 1, 1982, in Landstuhl, West Germany, where her father was stationed while serving in the U.S. Air Force. She was the younger of two children. She lived in various places in West Germany; Washington, D.C.; and Michigan before graduating from Ogemaw Heights High School, near West Branch, in 2001. She then attended Kirtland Community College and Adrian College. She met Andy Wayne while singing in the choir at the Detroit Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church, and the two were married July 15, 2006, at Nardin Park United Methodist Church in Farmington Hills. She and Andy were blessed with two children: Katherine Irene (born 2010) and Abigail Mae (born 2013). In 2011 she and Andy built their family home in Farmington Hills. Tami worked in the retail sector, most recently at Michaels in Novi. She enjoyed travel, hiking, English murder mysteries, being active in church, volunteering at her daughters' school, and spending time with family. On the last of her many family trips, Tami enjoyed New Year's fireworks in San Antonio and hiking in Big Bend National Park.
Tami is survived by husband Andrew Wayne, parents Thomas and Kim Spencer, daughters Katherine Wayne and Abigail Wayne, brother Scott (Melissa) Spencer, brothers-in-law Matthew (Janna) Wayne and Stephen (Ellen) Wayne, sister-in-law Sarah (John) Loth, six nephews, and five nieces.
Tami's family will receive guests on Tuesday, April 16, from 5-9 pm, at the funeral home.
A funeral service for Tami is planned for Wednesday, April 17, 11 am (visitation beginning at 10 am), at Nardin Park United Methodist Church, 29887 W. Eleven Mile Rd, Farmington Hills.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nardin Park United Methodist Church or Plymouth First United Methodist Church .
