Sue, beloved mom, sister, grandma and aunt, entered eternal peace on Wednesday morning, February 21, 2024, at Ascension Macomb Hospital, Warren.  She was 76 years old.

Sue was born November 9, 1947, in Detroit, to the late Robert and Maxine (Bowers) Hinger.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry, on January 13, 2004.

Surviving are two devoted children, June (David) Schwartz and John (Shannon) Farrell; grandchildren, Ashley (Andrew) Cairns, Justin Farrell and Katey Farrell; her brother, Rick (Dee) Hinger; great-grandchildren, Hunter and Brayden Fulayter; her brother-in-law, Dale (Diane) Farrell; nieces and nephews, Richard and Scott Hinger, and Todd (Melissa), Tiffany and Damon (Sheila) Farrell; and great-nieces and nephews, Stephen Hinger, Kaelan Farrell, and Molly, Kate and Abbey Farrell.

Sue's memberships included the First United Methodist Church, as well and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, in Farmington.  She found solace in the warmth of human connections and cherished visits from friends and family.  As we say goodbye to Sue, we find comfort in knowing that she has finally found the peace she sought and her spirit is now free from the burdens of a difficult life. Sue will be remembered for the love she gave, the strength she showed, and the lasting impact she had on those fortunate enough to know her.  May she rest in peace.

Family and friends may gather for visitation at Heeney-Sundquist on Thursday, February 29, from 1-3 pm.

Sue's funeral ceremony is planned to begin at 3:00 pm, also at Heeney-Sundquist.
