Obituary

Shelly A. Tierney, age 62, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 20, 2024, in Livonia, MI.

Shelly was born in Dearborn, MI, February 1, 1961, the daughter of the late Evelyn and Alvin Kutchins.

Shelly, a beloved and gracious host known for her warm gatherings during holidays and parties. Shelly was cherished for her caring and compassionate spirit that touched the lives of many.

A woman of strong convictions, Shelly always knew what she wanted and never hesitated to express her thoughts. Her passion for life was evident in her avid viewership of the Hallmark Channel, where she watched every episode of "Call of the Heart" with enthusiasm.

Shelly was not just a consumer of entertainment; she was also an avid reader and researcher, embodying a true "know-it-all" spirit. Her curiosity led her to explore a wide range of topics, and her knowledge was a source of inspiration for those fortunate enough to engage in conversations with her.

Together with her partner Tim, Shelly frequented local art shows, making annual visits to events in Ann Arbor and Plymouth. Their shared appreciation for art created lasting memories and strengthened their bond.

One of Shelly's most admirable qualities was her role as a caregiver for her mother in Traverse City. She dedicated herself to providing love and support until her mother's passing, exemplifying the depth of her compassion and commitment to family.

Shelly leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and an unwavering love for life. Her positive influence on those around her will be remembered with fondness, and she will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Shelly will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her but especially by her loving husband of 37 years, Timothy.  She was the beloved sister of Victor Kutchins (Cathi) and Rick Kutchins (Denise).  Shelly was also an adoring aunt to many.

It was her decision to be cremated at this time.  Her family is planning on having a memorial dinner at a later date, giving everyone a chance to share their memories of Shelly.
