Sharon Mae
Hamill
Jun 1, 1932 — Sep 25, 2022
Sharon, of Farmington Hills, formerly of Livonia and West Bloomfield, an amazing and loved mom, grandma, great-grandma, and friend, passed into eternal life unexpectedly on Sunday afternoon, September 25, 2022. She was 90 years old.
Sharon was born in Detroit, on June 1, 1932, the daughter of James and Doris (Truran) Couser. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 20 years, John "Jack" Hamill, in August of 1977.
Sharon's life revolved around her kids and grandkids. She never missed a game, play, dance recital, birthday, graduation, or any other event. After Jack passed, she was the glue that held the entire family together. Her calm demeanor, wonderful sense of humor, and dedication to family served the entire family well.
Sharon insisted on cooking Sunday dinners on a regular basis for all who could make it and her brown gravy was said to be amazing. She was also the host for all holiday gatherings until she could no longer physically manage. Sharon also organized the annual family summer vacations, whether in Northern Michigan or the Carolinas.
Sharon worked as a teller and safe deposit clerk at National Bank of Detroit for many years. Her customers loved her smile and friendly conversation. Many would wait for her window to "open up" because she was their favorite teller.
When not working or spending time with her family Sharon could be found on a golf course striving for an occasional par, or in Las Vegas with some of her lifelong friends. She truly loved her social interactions with family and friends, who are all a little poorer with her passing.
Surviving are her six children, the Hon. James (Diane) Brady, Susan (Thomas) Leduc, Deborah (Kevin) Bousquet, Patricia (the late Stephen) Creamer, Lori (fiancé Steve Vlahakis) Yarnell, and John Hamill; eighteen grandchildren, Elisabeth (Andrew) Smelser, Joseph Bousquet, Jenny Bousquet, Brian (Kim) Bousquet, Laura (Ryan) Oliver, Tony Bousquet, David (Brittany) Bousquet, Kristy Bousquet, Zack Bousquet, Annie (Curt) Anderson, Mary (Todd) Beam, Jimmy (Taylor) Brady, Keri (Michael) Tomczyk, Sara (fiancé Ben Kuehl) Leduc, Timothy Creamer, Wesley (Christine) Yarnell, Scott (Sara) Hamill and Mackenzie Hamill; and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
Sharon's family will receive guests at Heeney-Sundquist on Sunday afternoon, October 2, from 12 Noon - 4 pm. A memorial ceremony will conclude the visiting hours at 4 pm. Todd Lipa, LFC, will preside.
Those who wish to further honor Sharon's memory are invited to consider a donation to the Macular Degeneration Association or the Humane Society of Huron Valley .
