Sandra G. Burton, age 95, of Livonia, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at her home.

Sandra was born June 26, 1930, in Detroit, MI, the daughter of the late Grace and Frederick Hoffmeyer.

Faith was the cornerstone of Sandra's life. A lifelong member of the Livonia Church of Christ, she devoted many years to teaching Bible school and hosting The Boys' and Girls' Bible club in her basement. For 19 years Sandra volunteered at the Angela Hospice Care Center in Livonia, where she was known as the "soup lady", providing soup every Monday for the families of the residents.

Sandra and her husband, Hayward, opened their home to many children as foster parents, bringing love and stability to young lives. She also accompanied Hayward, Elder of Missions, on numerous mission trips to Africa, supporting his work and deepening her own commitment to service. At home she created lasting family memories—her children will always cherish the many camping trips the family took across the United States.

Her family was her priority to the end. Sandra will be remembered as a devoted wife, a wonderful mother, and a faithful servant of God whose warmth touched everyone she met.

Sandra was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Hayward.  She is the loving mother of Janice Sims (Rick), Christiane Brown, Jennifer Burton, David Burton (Colleen) and Curtis Burton; dearest grandmother of Eric, Heather, Racheal, Joshua, Crystal, Michelle, Shane, Sarah, Emily, Ben, Conner and Jenna and great grandmother of 21; fondest sister of the following deceased, Rodney and David Hoffmeyer.

The Burton family will receive guests Sunday, June 14, 12-5 pm at the funeral home, where a service will be held beginning at 5 pm.
