Ruth, age 97, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 16, 2024.

Ruth was born March 6, 1927, in Flint, the daughter of James and May (Gibb) Scott.  She married Harry Lee Shelton on September 6, 1952, and he preceded her in death in 1985.

Ruth was employed by the Detroit News in the accounting department and was very social and loved people.

Ruth is survived by her daughter, Barbara Peters, and son, Dennis Shelton.  Sadly, Ruth was preceded in death by her brother, James Scott, and her sister, Virginia Arntson.

Ruth's family will receive guests on Friday, June 21, from 5-8 pm, at the funeral home.

A funeral service is planned for Saturday, June 22, 2 pm, also at the funeral home.

Private interment will take place at White Chapel Memorial Cemetery in Troy.
