Ruth Clara Seiler, age 95, of Farmington Hills, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2026, after a brief illness.

She lived a long life as a tough and independent woman after losing her pilot hero of a husband Donald John Seiler in 1986. She leaves behind her sons, Paul (Julie) Seiler and David (Terry) Seiler and her two granddaughters, Natalie and Claudia.  Ruth was preceded in death by her sister, Eleanore.

Ruth was born on May 11, 1930, in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of Andrew and Rose (Hafner) Sauer. Ruth grew up in Akron and went on to attend the University of Akron, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education in 1948.  While in college, she formed special friendships with her sisters in Alpha Delta Pi sorority.  She and Don started their family in Mentor, Ohio and moved to Farmington Hills in 1973.

She had a real love for the outdoors and spent much of her life in the garden and perfecting her yard and lawn.  In her later years, she enjoyed watching birds and wildlife. Her other passion was interior decorating which she translated into a neat, orderly and stylish household. Ruth was a loving grandmother who shared many special times with her two granddaughters.  She had a great sense of humor and was loved by all who knew her and she will be truly missed.
