Ruth S.
Robling
Jun 11, 1950 — Dec 27, 2023
Ruth Robling, of Novi, a cherished wife, devoted mother, and adored grandma, passed into eternal life on December 27, 2023, at Henry Ford Hospital, West Bloomfield, following a courageous battle during a prolonged hospital stay. She was 73. Her legacy of love, dedication, and unwavering strength remains etched in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Born in Hancock, MI, on June 11, 1950, to the late Albert and Violette (Barr) Richards, and raised with a passion for nurturing and teaching, she found her calling at Lanigan Elementary School in Farmington, where she served as an administrative professional for many fruitful years. Before her tenure in the office, she selflessly volunteered in classrooms and the media center, leaving an indelible mark on the lives she touched. Her commitment to education extended far beyond the job description, embracing every opportunity to empower young minds and support educators.
Beyond her professional pursuits, she was a multifaceted soul with an array of passions. Her love for crocheting, knitting, crafting, and baking reflected her creative spirit and meticulous attention to detail. An avid reader, she found solace and joy in the pages of books, expanding her world and nurturing her curious mind.
Described as strong-willed and unwavering, she was the cornerstone of her household, orchestrating life with a gentle yet determined hand. Her dedication to her family was boundless, and Marc, her husband of 51 years, stood as a testament to their enduring love and partnership.
Her friendships were treasured, and she was renowned for her selflessness. She would go above and beyond, bending backward to support those in need, offering kindness and unwavering loyalty to her dear friends.
However, perhaps her greatest joy and pride lay in her role as a grandmother. Her world revolved around her cherished grandchildren, showering them with unconditional love, wisdom, and endless affection. She was their unwavering champion, imparting lessons that will echo through generations.
In her absence, she leaves behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and dedication. Her absence will be keenly felt, but her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who were privileged to have known her.
Surviving are her beloved husband of 51 years, Marc; loving children, Samantha (Matt) Pelt, Edwin (Lauren) Robling, Danielle (Brent) Vibbert, and Lawrence Robling; her sister, Judy (Joseph) Englehardt; and cherished grandchildren, Lucas, Lilian, and Brooklyn Pelt, Alexandra and Marc II Robling, and Elliot, Adelaide, Cassandra, Winifred and Eleanor Vibbert. She was preceded in death by a sister, Violet Richards.
Family and friends may gather for visitation at the Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 2, from 3-8 pm.
Ruth's funeral ceremony is planned for Wednesday morning, January 3, at 11:00 am, also at Heeney-Sundquist. Reverend Laura Speiran from Orchard United Methodist Church, Farmington Hills, will preside.
Memorial contributions are kindly suggested to the Michigan Dyslexia Institute, 532 E. Shiawassee, Lansing, MI 48912-1214.
