Obituary

"Vin", of Livonia, unexpectedly passed into eternal life at his home on Monday evening, August 21, 2023.  He was 83 years old.

Vin was born February 8, 1940, in Detroit, to the late Joseph and Dorothy (Vincent) Jaber.  He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50+ years, Karen, on October 3, 2008.

Surviving are four devoted children, Malinda (Jim) Merritt, Patti (Doug) Clinton, Vincent (Amy) Jaber, and Jimmy (Dawn) Jaber; cherished grandchildren, Jessica (Wayne) Harpster, Jaimi (Randy) Temple, Nikki Clinton, Danielle (Bobby) Cain, Kevin (fiancée Leah) Clinton, Keith Jaber, Jaclyn (fiancé Joshua Johnson) Jaber, Stephanie (fiancé Jason Spry) Jaber, and James Jaber II; great-grandchildren, Cameron (Emily) Corkery, Gavin Corkery, Chase Temple, Carter Temple, Kiera Cain, Lydia Clinton, Payslee Johnson, Brooklynn Johnson, and Arielle Spry; siblings, Robert (Janet) Jaber and Yvonne (the late Larry) Vartanian; sister-in-law, Artie (the late Dave) Edgerton; Vin's faithful companion, Maya; his friend, Chesterine Montanbeau, and numerous nieces and nephews.  Additionally, Vin was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph (the late Dixie) Jaber.

Vin embraced life with passion, grace, and a spirit that touched the hearts of many. As we bid farewell, we celebrate his legacy of love, dedication, and unwavering values.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman, finding solace in the embrace of nature's beauty. The woods and waters were his sanctuary, where he felt closest to the world around him. For over sixty years of rifle season opening days, he shared countless tales of adventure and camaraderie with those who shared his love for the outdoors.

But beyond his pursuits in nature, Vin had a heart of gold that shone brightest when he was with his family. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he loved them unconditionally. His legacy of love will continue to guide them, reminding them of the importance of family bonds and the values he held dear.  Generosity flowed through Vin's veins.  His giving spirit knew no bounds, and he touched lives through his acts of kindness and compassion. He always extended a helping hand to those in need, embodying the true essence of selflessness.  As a man of honor and integrity, Vin earned the trust and respect of all who crossed his path. His word was his bond, and his actions spoke volumes about his character.

But perhaps one of the most beautiful chapters of Vin's life was the dancing he shared with his beloved Karen. Their love story was one of partnership, joy, and harmony and the dance floor became a stage where their hearts entwined, a symbol of their enduring bond that grew stronger with each step they took together.

As we say our goodbyes, let us remember Vin for the legacy of love and goodness he leaves behind. His kindness, honor, and warmth will live on in the memories we shared with him. Though he may no longer be physically present, his spirit will forever dance in the hearts of those he touched.
