Obituary

Ross D. McIntee, age 79, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2024, in Farmington Hills.

He was born on April 7th, 1945, in St Catharines, Ontario, Canada, to Lee and Audrey (Durham) McIntee. He proudly served in Vietnam as a member of the US Army. On August 12, 1989, Ross exchanged vows with Nancy Giasson in a memorable ceremony at Greenmead Historical Farms in Livonia. Together, they raised a wonderful daughter, Ashlie, and enjoyed 45 years together filled with adventure and laughter.

Ross worked as an x-ray technician, but his true passion lay in creating and building with his hands. He was a talented artist who took great pride in designing and constructing much of the family home piece by piece. A reliable and strong-willed man, he was always able to find the solution to any problem. His love of animals, especially dogs, was evident in the way he cared for and treated them like family. He always put everyone before himself.

He had a unique ability to bring laughter to those around him with his stories and witty jokes. He was known, by any who were lucky enough to taste his cooking, as a barbecue grill master. His steaks and beef ribs, along with his pig roasts, were legendary among family and friends.

Ross's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know and love him. He is survived by his cherished wife Nancy, their daughter Ashlie and her spouse Amelie, his nephews Cory and Kelly Hand, many cousins in Canada, as well as family on his wife's side. Ross was preceded in death by his sister, Marsha. His legacy of love and laughter will endure in the memories shared by everyone whose lives he touched.

A memorial gathering for Ross is planned for Sunday, April 6, 2025, 12-5 pm, at the Longacre House, 24705 Farmington Rd, Farmington Hills.

Memorial tributes suggested to Wounded Warrior Foundation , Tunnels to Towers or Paralyzed Veterans of America .
