Obituary

Ronald "Ron" Everard, of Belleville, passed away early Wednesday morning, July 15, 2026, at Corewell Health Trenton Hospital. He was 77 years old.

Ron was born August 25, 1948, in Detroit, the son of the late John and Beatrice (Taylor) Everard. On October 8, 1971, he married the love of his life, Linda M. Luark, at Grace Lutheran Church in Redford. Their marriage was officiated by the late Reverend Dr. Victor Halboth. Together, Ron and Linda shared nearly 55 years of marriage, building a life rooted in love, faith, devotion and family.

A hardworking man, Ron was employed by Detroit Diesel as a materials handler for more than 17 years. Following a serious industrial accident at work in 1980, he eventually retired in 1986. Despite the challenges he faced, Ron remained strong, determined and deeply devoted to providing for and caring for those he loved.

Ron had a lifelong interest in older automobiles and greatly enjoyed working on them. Gifted with a creative and practical mind, he also designed the Belleville home in which he and Linda continued to reside. It was a home filled with many years of family memories and stood as a reflection of Ron's vision, perseverance and dedication.

Above all, Ron was a loving, caring and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was generous and selfless, always willing to put the needs of others before his own. His family meant everything to him, and he found great joy and pride in his two grandsons, Logan and Connor.

Ron's heart was forever changed by the loss of his cherished daughter, Marie Cardin, who preceded him in death on October 27, 2023. Her passing was a profound and heartbreaking loss that he carried with him each day.

A devoted Christian, Ron placed his faith and trust in God later in life. His family takes comfort in knowing that he has been reunited with Marie, his parents, and deceased members of Linda's family, and welcomed into the promise of eternal life.

Ron is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 55 years, Linda, and his treasured grandsons, Logan and Connor. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Marie Cardin, and his parents, John and Beatrice Everard.

A Celebration of Ron's Life will be held in the coming days at Open Arms Lutheran Church in Belleville. Service details will be announced as soon as they become available.
