Rocco J. Giurlanda, age 77, of Farmington Hills, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2026.

Rocco was born on November 5, 1948, in Detroit, the son of Mario and Pauline (Simonte) Giurlanda.

Rocco deeply loved his family and treasured the time he spent with his children and grandchildren. He especially enjoyed family parties, where he could often be found grilling with a cigar or relaxing on the deck, surrounded by those he loved. An avid outdoorsman, Rocco enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also loved traveling with friends and creating lasting memories with them.

Although his health had declined over the past few years, visits from his grandchildren always brought a smile to his face. He will be deeply missed by many.

Rocco is survived by his wife of 20 years, Marlene; his mother, Pauline Giurlanda; his children, Stephanie (Brian) Huhn, Christopher (Sarah) Giurlanda, Jessica Guibord, Jodi (Richard) Kay, Edward (Shelby) Weinger, and Jordan (Samantha) Weinger; his grandchildren, Ava, Gavin, Mia, William, Luciana, Alice, Nicholas, Chase, Cole, Brandon, Andrew, Jacob, Jack, Reese, Beckett, Westin, and Emma; and his brothers, Mario (Michelle) Giurlanda and Joseph (Deborah) Giurlanda. Rocco was preceded in death by his father, Mario, and his infant sister, Joyce.

Rocco's family will receive guests on Sunday, September 27, 2026, from 3:00–8:00 p.m., with a Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m., at the funeral home.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, September 28, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m., at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 23615 Power Road, Farmington.

Interment will immediately follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield.
