Robert "Bob"
Nuccitelli
Mar 13, 1936 — Jan 10, 2024
West Bloomfield
Robert "Bob" Nuccitelli, 87, of West Bloomfield, Michigan, and Punta Gorda, Florida, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, in Boston, Massachusetts after battling cardiovascular disease. He was surrounded by family and friends.
Bob was born on March 13, 1936, in Brooklyn, New York to August "Fred" and Genevieve (née Siciliano) Nuccitelli. The elder of two boys in impoverished circumstances, Bob used to work after school at a fruit stand. His boss saw promise in young Bobby and sponsored him to St. John's Preparatory High School where he graduated then matriculated to Adelphi University, proudly earning a degree in physics in 1963 by attending nights while working and raising a young family. He then went to work for the Honeywell Corporation, moving his family to Brighton, Massachusetts. Always looking for opportunities to excel, he then transferred to Raytheon, specializing in missile gyros, and eventually was promoted to managing the engineering group, which he did for over 37 years, retiring in 1995.
Never idle, Bob lived life to the fullest, summering in New Hampshire and Michigan and spending winters in Florida after retiring. He brought beauty to everything he touched; renovating a house on Huntress Pond in New Hampshire and continually improving every home he ever lived in while always ready to help his many family members and friends to improve their own homes. His door was always open; he was always available for a favor or to host a party. He loved to golf, cook, play cards and bocci ball, and tennis. Tennis was his passion; he played avidly with his league and spent 7 years running the club's social events. He also created beautiful stained glass and shared this craft with others, teaching a class at Maple Leaf Estates where he met future wife Sharon Cisco whom he married in Michigan in 2018.
Bob loved children, was a loving husband and a wonderful father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He was adored by his family and friends. Those closest to him will always remember his smile, his ever-present sense of humor, his loyalty, and the immensity of his heart. He cherished his large, blended family, raising nine daughters, a source of great pride, and was frequently seen traveling to different parts of the country to be there for important events in their lives.
Faith was very important to Bob, supporting both Our Lady of Sorrows in Michigan and San Antonio Catholic Church in Florida, where he joined the Knights of Columbus. He supported numerous charities and community outreach programs, including the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Bob is survived by his wife, Sharon Cisco; her children, Jennifer (Ray) Eifler; Brad (Lorri) Cisco; Theresa (Chip) Bridges; his children Jean (Peter) Sarkis; Maureen Nuccitelli, Maryanne (Joseph) Mullen; Melissa (Bill) German; Deb (Scott) Morrow; Cheryl (Phil) Ryan; Suzanne (Eric) Parker; Lynne (Steven) Brower; Christine (Steven) Sullivan; and his former wife Rosemary Christensen (d. 1972). He is also survived by 27 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bob is predeceased by his late wife, Dorothy "Dottie" Forbes; his former wife, Joan Hall (d.1978); his parents, August and Genevieve Nuccitelli; his stepmother, Theresa Nuccitelli; his sister, Deborah Nuccitelli; and his granddaughter, Ariel.
Per his wishes, Bob was cremated in Massachusetts. A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows in Farmington, Michigan at 10:00 AM (Visitation beginning at 9:30 AM) on March 15th, 2024, followed by a short service at Holy Sepulchre in Southfield where he will be laid to rest. A luncheon will follow. A Celebration of Life is planned in New Hampshire in the spring.
