Robert "Bob" James Grove, age 85, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2024. Bob was born on October 10, 1939, in Detroit and attended Mackenzie High School on the west side. He then joined the Detroit police department and proudly served for several years before transitioning to other careers in the security field.

Bob married and lived with his wife, Leola, and 2 children, Bob and Catherine, in Livonia for many years. In 1991 Bob married Angela (Angie) Sheridan and together they resided in Farmington Hills these past 33 years.

Bob was a lifelong Detroit sports fan and played both baseball and hockey as a youth. He held a lot of pride in rooting for the Detroit teams and was quick to share that he was Gordie Howe's neighbor and paperboy growing up. Additionally, Bob loved the water and spent many happy hours swimming in various lakes in Ontario, Michigan and Florida, as well as a few, warm, international vacations he and Angie were able to take. Finally, it's important to include that Bob was a lifelong Christian and was an active member of the congregation at Faith Community Presbyterian Church in Novi during this last decade.

Bob's death was preceded by his parents, Harold and Catherine Vivian (Vi), as well as his older brother, Harold Jr. He is survived by his loving wife, Angie, and 2 children, Bob (Rebecca) and Catherine (Bruce), as well grandchildren, Owen and Gretchen. Additionally, Bob had a caring extended family of children, grandchildren and great grandchildren from Angie's side.

A memorial will be held on Saturday October 26th at 1:00pm at Faith Community Presbyterian Church located at 44400 W 10 Mile Rd, Novi, MI 48375 with lunch at Peterlin's in Farmington to follow.

Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Angela Hospice in Livonia to recognize their kindness and care in his last days.
