Robert W.
Cook
Apr 3, 1944 — Apr 5, 2026
Robert W. Cook, " Bob", passed into eternal life in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
He was the dear father of Gary, John, and Laurie, and a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren. He is also survived by his twin brother, Richard "Dick" Cook (Nancy) of Farmington, and his loving wife, Roberta.
Bob attended Farmington Public Schools and began his education in 1949 at Fairview School, a one-room schoolhouse. He later attended Farmington High School, where he distinguished himself as an outstanding wrestler. Bob became the first wrestler from Farmington to earn all-league and all-county honors every year. He was a two-time all-state wrestler and a state championship runner-up. He continued his wrestling career at Central Michigan University as a varsity athlete.
After graduating with honors, Bob returned to his alma mater, where he coached successful wrestling teams and helped develop Farmington's first state champion.
Bob later moved to Lapeer, Michigan, where he served as Director of Special Education. He went on to become the Lapeer County Superintendent, leading what was then the third-largest county employer in Michigan. In addition to his work in education, Bob was also a successful entrepreneur involved in several corporations, with commercial and residential property holdings in Michigan, Texas, and Florida.
Bob will be remembered for his leadership, determination, athletic achievement, and entrepreneurial spirit.
Rest in peace, Bob.
