Rich, of Brighton, loving father, uncle and friend, passed into eternal life on August 7, 2022.  He had been in declining health for several months.

Rich was born June 23, 1955, in Detroit, to the late Thaddeus and Genevieve (Kurpiel) Tobis.  In addition to his parents, Rich was preceded in death by his brother, James (Barbara) Tobis, in 2005, and his sister, Patricia Tobis in 1955.

Surviving are his son, Anthony Tobis; granddaughter, Abigail Tobis; niece and nephews, Michael (Susan) Tobis, Suzi Case, and Daniel (Andrea) Tobis; great-nieces and nephews, Haley Case, Lila Case, James Tobis, Lorelei Tobis, Ashley Martin, Hannah Cordes, and Jaren Albright; as well as a host of friends.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Henry Ford Hospice .

A ceremony honoring Rich's life is planned for Saturday, September 17, at 12 noon, at the funeral home.  The family will receive guests from 9 am until the 12 noon ceremony.
