Richard, age 98, of Redford Township, beloved husband, uncle, brother, son, friend, passed into eternal life on August 24, 2022, at Sunrise of Grosse Pointe.

Richard was born March 26, 1924, in Detroit, to the late Theresa and Joseph Cousins.

Richard was known for having a kind heart and would find the good in everyone that he met. Richard loved spending his free time golfing and bowling. He loved traveling with his wife Dorothy, and the two were especially fond of going on cruises together. For many years, Richard enjoyed square dancing with his wife. Although in later years most of the group was unable to dance, they continued to meet once a month for lunch. Moreover, he enjoyed spending time volunteering in the community and socializing with club and fraternity members.

Richard was employed by General Motors as a Tool and Dye worker. His membership included the Motor City Eagles #2265, Society of American Foresters, and the Knights of Columbus where he reached the prestigious rank of Grand Knight.

Richard is survived by more than 30 nieces and nephews.

Richard is preceded in death by his dear wife, Dorothy Cousins; brothers, Charles Cousins, Mac Cousins, and Edward Cousins; sister, Helen Taleck; and parents, Joseph and Theresa Cousins.

Visitation is planned for Sunday, September 11 ^th , from 11 am until 1 pm, (there will be a 1/2 hour prayer service from 11:30 am until 12 noon.) at the Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home, downtown Farmington. A luncheon will take place next door at John Cowley & Sons Irish Pub at 1:15 pm.

Memorial tributes are suggested to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital and Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
