In Loving Memory of Ramon Adolfo Madrid
Ramon Adolfo Madrid, beloved father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2026, at the age of 97.
Born on May 4, 1929, in Lima, Peru, Ramon attended Leoncio Prado Military Academy and then graduated from the University of San Marcos Medical School in 1957. He moved to the United States to start his medical career in Iowa before moving to Philadelphia and finally, Detroit. In Detroit, Ramon spent many years working as a surgeon at Henry Ford Hospital where he would meet his wife of over 60 years, Judith, who was also working there as a nurse. He later worked at Dearborn Medical Clinic before starting his own medical practices in Garden City and Dearborn.
Ramon was a modern-day Renaissance Man. In addition to working for over 50 years as a medical doctor until his mid-80s, he had a lifelong passion for learning and of the arts. He loved painting, sketching, sculpting, and learning to play piano and guitar. He became fluent in multiple languages. He also loved the symphony orchestra and the opera.
Ramon will be deeply missed by his wife, Judith; his children, Michael (Sandy), Martin (Kim), Philip (Cristina) and James (Marcie); his grandchildren, Gabriela, Nicholas, Isabela, Sofia, Juliana and Isiah.
