Peter (Panayoti) Stassinopoulos, age 90, of Novi, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Angela Hospice in Livonia.

Peter was born August 28, 1934, Dara of Trifylia, Messinia, Greece, the son of Yanni and Chrisoula Stassinopoulos.  He immigrated to Canada in 1959 and then the United States in 1965.  He married Esther Cominou in April 1968, and she preceded him in death June 18, 2021.  Peter is well known for his famous restaurants, Leo's Coney Island, where he and his brother (Leo) founded the first location in 1971.

Surviving are his children, Bambi Platz, Penny (Steve) Michell, John (Jackie) Stassinopoulos, Chris (Bill) Krall and Jerry (Nicole) Stassinopoulos; grandchildren, Alexander and Brendan Michell, Peter and Jonathan Stassinopoulos, Cia, Ava and Niko Krall, Taso, Stavros and Aris Stassinopoulos; great grandson, Gregory; brother to surviving siblings, Leo Stassinopoulos, Helen Kotsovos, Effie Kostandakos, Alexandra Smirni and Demetra Kondos.  He was preceded in death by his brothers, Kosta, Theodore and Panayota.

Services will be held as follows:
Monday, April 7th, 10am- 1pm Visitation/Viewing Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church
Monday, April 7th, 1pm Funeral Service Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church
Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church is located at 25225 Middlebelt Road, Farmington Hills.

Interment will immediately follow the funeral service at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens, 43300 W. 12 Mile Rd, Novi.

Memorial tributes are suggested to the Michigan Humane Society or Angela Hospice .
