Peter Prescott passed away on February 17, 2023, at the age of 89, after a lengthy illness.

Pete was born to Allen and Betty Prescott near Cleveland Ohio, October 19, 1933.  He became interested in veterinary medicine while spending summers at his grandfather's cattle ranch in Prescott, Michigan.  He was a member of the Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating class of 1957.  After graduating from MSU he had a private veterinary practice in Utica, Michigan for 25 years and then became CEO of the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association (MVMA) which he led until his retirement.  Pete earned numerous honors during his career including the MSU Distinguished Alumni Award and the MVMA Distinguished Lifetime Achievement Award.

In retirement, Pete and his wife Lynn made many memories with family and friends.  They traveled to warm places in the winter.  In the summer, he enjoyed fishing, golfing, and hosting daily patio parties at their northern Michigan lakeside cottage.

Dr. Peter Prescott is survived by his wife Lynn of 59 years, daughters Elizabeth Romano (Peat) and Amy Vandecar (Dan); grandchildren Peter Romano (Krystal), Liam Romano, Madison Vandecar and Abby Vandecar; and brother Bob Prescott (Barb).
