Paul R. Runyan, of Farmington, Michigan, passed away on March 20, 2023, at the age of 86. Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Paul was born on March 4, 1937, and was a graduate of Western Hills High School and the University of Cincinnati. He was a member of the business fraternity Alpha Kappa Psi. Paul and his loving wife of 61 years, Diane, moved to Detroit Michigan in 1961 when Paul began his career at Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan. Paul held numerous positions at Ford in the finance and accounting field during his 35 years at Ford.

Anyone even slightly familiar with Paul knew that the pride and joy of his life was his wife and family. Not far behind was his love of his Orchard United Methodist church family, his love of northern Michigan and nature in general, fishing, and model railroading. Paul was a voracious reader with a passion for history. He also held a strong interest in birds and spent much of his time during the winter months filling his bird feeders and identifying every species of bird that came his way. Paul loved life and never passed up the opportunity to learn.

Paul is survived by his wife, Diane; son, David (Kate) Runyan; daughter, Karen (Joe) Jacobson; and grandchildren, Scott (Erin) Runyan, Elizabeth (Stuart) Boyd, Andrew Jacobson and Megan Jacobson. He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Mark Runyan; and great-grandson, Lewis Boyd.

A celebration of Paul's life will be held at Orchard United Methodist Church at 30450 Farmington Rd., Farmington Hills, MI 48334 on Monday, March 27, 2023, at 11:00AM. A lunch reception will immediately follow the ceremony at the church.
