Obituary

Pasquale J. "Pat" Ferretti, age 77, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2024, at Corewell Health Farmington Hills Hospital after a long illness.

Pat was born in Detroit, Michigan, November 10, 1946, the son of the late Angeline and Gerald Ferretti.

Pat, who earned a master's degree at Wayne State University, was a beloved former teacher and athletic director at Our Lady Gate of Heaven grade school in Detroit.

Laughter was a constant in Pat's life. Known for his quick wit, he brought joy to everyone around him. Music was another love, and he could often be found singing karaoke and enjoying the rhythm of life. A fan of board games, Pat excelled at Euchre, trivia, and any game that brought people together for fun and laughter.

Cooking was one of Pat's great passions. He enjoyed experimenting in the kitchen, often starting with a recipe before putting his personal spin on it. His meals, lovingly prepared, were always a highlight for family and friends.

A man of many talents, Pat was handy around the house and always willing to lend a helping hand with home improvements. His generosity extended beyond his own family, as he used his skills to assist others in need.

Deeply rooted in his Italian heritage, Pat was a devout Catholic with a strong spiritual foundation. His faith carried him through life's challenges, including his illness, where he remained a role model for many with his resilience and grace.

Pat was a father figure not only to his own family but to countless former students, colleagues, and friends. He was known for his wisdom and advice, always offering guidance with kindness and understanding.

His favorite pastimes were watching sports, particularly baseball, football and golf, as well as listening to music and visiting with friends. Pat also cherished the time spent with his grandchildren, working on projects, attending their sporting events and creating other lasting memories.

Pat's legacy of love, laughter, and service to others will forever be remembered by those who knew him.

Pat is the loving husband of Shirley for 52 years; beloved father of Marc Ferretti and Christine Ferretti (Sam Constantine); cherished grandfather of Kacie and Carson; fond brother-in-law of George Blaharski; dearest uncle and great uncle. Sadly, Pat is preceded in death by his brother, John Ferretti (Madeline) and sister, Rosemary Blaharski.

The Ferretti family will receive friends Monday, October 14, 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. His family will lead in sharing memories starting at 7 p.m.

A funeral Mass celebrating Pat's life will be Tuesday, October 15, 12 p.m. (in state 11:30 a.m.), St. Kenneth Catholic Church, 14951 N. Haggerty Rd, Plymouth.
