OBrian Nelson, of Farmington, age 30, passed away tragically, Saturday, May 30, 2026

He was born in Jamaica, September 23, 1995.

A proud member of the Cavaliers Soccer team, Obrian brought the same energy and teamwork to everything he did. He had a passion for performance cars, was an avid mountain biker who loved exploring singletrack, and enjoyed scuba diving—always eager for the next adventure beneath the surface. For more than six years Obrian worked at Magna Engineering in Southfield as a Level Two Technician, where his dedication and skill earned him the admiration of colleagues and customers alike.

OBrian's warmth, enthusiasm, and sense of fun made him a loyal friend and a valued teammate. His memory will live on in the stories, rides, dives, and drives shared by those who knew him.

OBrian is the beloved son of Josette Westcarth and Brian and Andrea Nelson; dearest brother of Jelani Nelson and Jordanna Taylor; fondest uncle to Jolie and Jordan; dearest nephew of Marvin Westcarth, Althea Westcarth, Charmaine Westcarth-Clarke, Melrose, Lindon, Fitzgerald and Donette and cousin of Destiny, Nathan, Marvane and Delono; cherished grandson of Elsie and Douglas Westcarth and Carmen Nelson; devoted best friend of Carina, Nan, Robert, Javan and Raj.

Beloved by many close friends and respected by all of his co‑workers, OBrian will be deeply missed by the community he touched.

The Nelson family will receive friends Friday, June 12, 10-11:30 am at the funeral home, where a funeral service will be held at 11:30 am. Please click HERE to view a livestream of the ceremony.
