Obituary

Nancy Carolyn Bowlick, passed away peacefully in Florida, Sunday, July 5, 2026.  She was 87 years old.

Nancy was born in Detroit on July 20, 1938.  She was raised by her loving mother Emma and her older sisters Betty and Marion.

Her earliest memories were spending time with her mother, favorite aunts, and her close life-long friend Barbara (Dolph) Deppner.  Nancy attended Cooley High School in Detroit.  After graduating, she started her career at the Detroit Institute of Technology.  At DIT she met George.  Six short months later they were married, eventually settling in Redford Township.  Years later, George and Nancy were blessed with their son Scott.  Together, they made the loving family that nourished Nancy's soul and brought her immense joy.  Family and friends recall how happy and special Nancy made everyone feel, whether it was a holiday or just a visit.

In her later years, in spite of physical and cognitive struggles, she still radiated joy and happiness.  Everyone who encountered Nancy found friendship with her.  In her final years in Florida, Nancy lived close to Scott and his family.

Nancy was also blessed to have a best friend, Bobbie Chapman, in her life in Florida.  Bobbie's companionship and care included taking Nancy to the hair salon and pampering her with manicures.

Nancy was a faithful servant of Christ and a lifelong parishioner of churches in Michigan and Florida.

Nancy is the loving mother of Scott (Janell); beloved grandmother of Kale Keigley and Jory Coble; cherished godmother of Jennifer Kluesner; dearest sister in law of Pauline Chaloult (Larry).

Sadly, she is preceded in death by her husband, George, her parents Emma and Elmer O'Shay, sisters Betty and Marion, and brothers Robert and Carl.

The Bowlick family will greet friends Thursday, July 16, 4-5:30pm at the funeral home, where a funeral service will be held beginning at 5:30pm.  For those of you that can't make it to the service in person, a livestream of the service can be accessed by using the following link, https://evt.live/nancy-bowlick-funeral-ceremony
