Miroslava Voisvilo, of Pontiac, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Thursday, June 1, 2023. She was 82 years old.
"Mira" as she was affectionally known was born on April 8th, 1941, in Michnokiem, Lithuania, to the late Wawrzyniec and Anna (Maczionis) Woiszwillo. She attended and graduated Pedagogy School in Lithuania. After high school, she began teaching for a few years. After teaching, she worked as a travel agent for the state. Once Lithuania got independence, Mira was able to open her own travel agency.
Miroslava was an extremely accomplished writer, gardener, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who loved to tell stories about her adventures in life. Mira was known for her green thumb, bright smile, and cooking. She enjoyed spending her time growing vegetables, sewing, traveling, and practicing her Catholic faith. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her son and grandchildren.
Miroslava is survived by her dearest son, Veslav Stecevic; beloved grandchildren, Jonathon P. Stecevic, Emily E. Stecevic, and Jane C. Stecevic; loving sisters, Walerija (Eugeniusz) Miroslavska, Alfreda (Czeslaw) Balukiewicz, and Jadvyga (Vytautas) Kurapkaitiene; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
She is preceded in death by siblings, Roza Voisvilo and Henia Miroslavska.
Mira will be especially remembered for her generosity and passion for life. Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone she interacted with.
Family and friends may gather for visitation at Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 6, from 2-8 pm, with a 7 pm rosary.
Miroslava's funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday morning, June 7, at 10:00 am (in state 9:30 am) at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 23615 Power Rd., Farmington.
Donations may made to UNICEF Ukraine to further honor Mira's life.
