Marylin J.
Krist
Oct 7, 1932 — Jun 2, 2025
Marylin J. Krist, lovingly known as "Rusty," of Farmington, passed into eternal life on the afternoon of Monday, June 2, 2025, at the Manor of Novi Care Center. She was 92 years old.
Born on October 7, 1932, in Highland Park, Michigan, Rusty was the daughter of the late Guy and Madeline (Roberts) DeLoney. She was a proud graduate of Highland Park High School, Class of 1950.
On December 8, 1951, she married the love of her life, Ronald Krist. Their enduring partnership weathered many seasons, including Ron's early injury and long-term disability. Through it all, Rusty remained a steady, devoted presence—his caretaker, partner, and unwavering support until his passing on January 9, 2004.
Family was everything to Rusty. A proud and loving matriarch, she raised six children and became a beloved figure to countless others in the Bel Aire neighborhood of Farmington. She was a woman of grit, humor, and heart—no-nonsense and tireless in her efforts to care for those she loved.
Rusty also shared her strength and talent beyond her home. She ran a successful catering business where her warm meals and warm heart fed both body and spirit.
Her greatest legacy is the family she nurtured and the lives she touched with her fierce love, resilience, and sense of service. She was the glue that held everything together, and her presence will be deeply missed.
Rusty is survived by six beloved children, Michael (Joan), William (Anne), Theresa (Thomas) Rospierski, Gerald, Robert (Carol), and Kathryn; seven cherished grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, June Lowe.
Rusty's family will gather for private services and subsequent interment at North Farmington Cemetery in Farmington Hills.
Those who wish to further honor Rusty's memory are invited to consider a contribution in her name to the Pope Francis Center, Detroit, or the Felician Sisters, Livonia.
