Mary C. Varner, age 91, of Livonia, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2022, at Beaumont Hospital, Farmington Hills Campus.

Mary was born in Bolton, MS, August 20, 1931, the daughter of the late Regina and Claude Garner.

Mary loved her hobbies - she would crochet, work on jigsaw puzzles and play video games on her phone.  She also enjoyed playing bingo and occasionally visiting the Detroit casinos, her most recent trip was on her birthday.  Mary never turned down a game of cards, Yahtzee or any other board game.  Later in life, she enjoyed watching the Tigers and Lions on TV.  Above all things, she cherished the time spent at family gatherings, especially holidays, where she would spend time playing with her grandkids and eating her favorite snack, Butter Pecan ice cream.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Henry.

Mary is the loving mother of Barbara Nael, Patricia Zander, Robert Varner (Michele), and Alice Vroman (Ron); beloved grandmother of Kim, Paul, Amy, Brenda, Stuart, Tara, Alex, Olivia, Nick, Ryan, David, Kelly and Amanda; great-grandmother of 14; dearest sister of Bud, Theresa, Regina and the following deceased, C.W., Hubert, Earl and Jim.

A funeral service honoring Mary's life will be Thursday, September 15, at 1 pm at the funeral home, where the Varner family will receive guests from 10 am until the service begins.

Immediately following the service, a funeral procession will take Mary to her place of rest next to her husband at Parkview Memorial Cemetery, Livonia.
