Mary G. Uhrig, beloved wife, sister and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Redford Township on February 5, 2025, at the age of 70.

Mary was born on January 5, 1955, in Detroit, the daughter of Elmer and Hazel (Osborn) Harper.

Mary was a loving partner to her husband, Michael Uhrig, with whom she shared a beautiful marriage of nearly 47 years, since their wedding on February 11, 1978. Together, they built a life filled with love, joy, and memories.

Mary's career spanned more two decades, where she worked as the Director of Medicare at a medical supply company, bringing dedication, compassion, and professionalism to her work. Prior to this, she worked as a phlebotomist, always with the goal of helping others and making them feel at ease.

Mary had a sweetness that touched everyone she met. She may not have been the life of the party, but she certainly knew how to bring the party to life with her kindness and thoughtful nature. More concerned about the well-being of others than herself, Mary's strong will and caring heart left a lasting impact on those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Her greatest love was always her family, and she cherished the strong bonds she shared with them. Mary's legacy of compassion, strength, and selflessness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Mary is the beloved wife of Michael; the cherished sister of Holly (the late Bill) Kennedy, Mark (Becca) Harper, the late Dennis Harper and the late Paul (Barb) Harper; dear sister-in-law of Donna Harper, Wayne (Rebecca) Uhrig and Steve (Mayella) Uhrig and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service is planned for Friday, February 14, 10 am, at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens, 43300 W. 12 Mile Road, Novi.
