Mary Ann
Morgan
Jun 24, 1929 — Dec 16, 2023
Beverly Hills
Mary Ann Morgan, age 94, passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2023.
Mary Ann was born June 24, 1929, in Detroit, the daughter of Harold and Frances (Gottwalles) Holderith, where she attended and graduated from St. Leo's Elementary and high school.
Mary Ann is the beloved wife of 74 years to the late Clarence; loving mother of Stephen (Diana) Morgan, James (Debby) Morgan, the late Michael Morgan, Katherine Michael, and Daniel Morgan; cherished grandmother of Brad Morgan, Keven Morgan, Rachael (Walt) Talbot, Brittany (Jon) Anderson, Theodore "T.J." (Jenn) Michael, Kim Saffran, Clarence "Caleb" Morgan, Sarah Morgan, Elijah Morgan, Grace Morgan; great grandmother of Elliana Talbot, Evelyn Talbot, Ethan Talbot, Roman Anderson, and Christian Anderson; dear sister-in-law of Beverly (the late Robert) Holderith.
Mary Ann devoted her life to her loved ones, volunteering at all her children's schools, serving funeral luncheons at St. Regis Catholic Church, serving communion as a eucharistic minister at nursing homes and hospitals, taking care of babies at My Place Day Care, and always making time to play with and care for her grandchildren. She planned monthly lunches with all her special friend groups: the General Motors ladies, the Bloomfield Hills neighbors, the Hillside Estates neighbors, and her nieces, nephew, and extended family, all of whom she loved dearly.
She will be remembered by all for her smile and laughter, and her welcoming, loving and accepting nature of everyone she knew: friends, neighbors, relatives, her community and church, her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and their spouses, and all her children's friends and loved ones. Mary Ann took loving care of her elderly mother in her own home for many years, who was able to be a part of and enjoy all the activity and company.
Lifelong memories will last for all who knew her with the celebrations of every holiday, birthday, wedding, new birth, graduation, first communions, and special events in her warm and inviting home with lovely artwork much of which she painted herself and photographs containing every member of the family. She would set a beautiful table for all with her finest dishware, and beautiful handmade tablecloths, and always served homemade delicious food including appetizers, punch bowls with decorated ice rings, brunch foods, dinner foods, and beautiful homemade desserts for every meal and occasion: cakes, cookies, pastries of every kind, all holding candles to celebrate special moments.
Mary Ann enabled her husband's automotive career to flourish, took care of their children during his many years of overseas travel, and entertained international executives with elegant dinner parties.
Mary Ann passed her values and strong moral character onto her children and grandchildren, led through her actions and examples in her daily life.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 22, 2023, 11 am (in state 10:30 am) at St. Gerald Catholic Church, 21300 Farmington Road, Farmington.
A private interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield.
