Obituary

Mary Ann Fiebig, of Rochester Hills, passed into eternal life on Thursday morning, July 6, 2023.  She was 83 years old.

Mary Ann was born October 31, 1939, in Hamtramck, to the late John and Mary (Trbovich) Lotts. In her earlier life, Mary Ann had a successful career at General Motors and was known as a world traveler. She visited many parts of the world.

In 1980, she married Myron J. "Jack" Fiebig in Madison Heights, Michigan. Mary Ann took on the role of wife to Jack and mother to two adolescent boys, Mark and Derek. Mary Ann retired from GM to help raise Jack's boys who had lost their mother to breast cancer four years earlier. Mary Ann was a committed wife to Jack until his death in March 2011 and caring mother to her boys.

A calm and quiet person, Mary Ann was a careful observer and a wise soul. She was a lover of dogs – with a particular soft spot for black Labs. Although small in stature and unassuming, Mary Ann was a fighter having survived three separate previous bouts with cancer. Mary Ann had a strong faith in God which never wavered.

Mary Ann is survived by her two devoted sons, Mark (Nathan) and Derek (Claudia) Fiebig; her beloved sister, Diana (Michael) Anderson; her grandchildren, Catherine, Derek, and Maria, and her nieces, Darcy and Beth.

Mary Ann's funeral ceremony is planned for Monday afternoon, July 24, at 1:00 p.m., at the Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home, downtown Farmington.  (Visitation 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.).

A procession to Glen Eden Memorial Park, Livonia, for Mary Ann's interment will follow the ceremony.
