Martha Kristin
Davis
Sep 13, 1950 — Apr 29, 2025
West Bloomfield
Martha Kristin Davis passed away peacefully, surrounded by those she held closest. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend—but most of all, she was the heart of her home.
Martha was born September 13, 1950, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of the late Howard and Rita (Flood) Schwartz.
For Martha, family was everything. She shaped a world where people felt safe, known, and cherished. Whether it was time spent up north on the pontoon boat or simply being together around her table, she turned ordinary days into lasting memories.
Professionally, Martha was devoted to her work in healthcare as an ultrasound technician. She brought not only skill, but an extraordinary warmth to her role—touching lives through her compassion and forming lifelong friendships with her colleagues.
Her love for her grandchildren ran deep and true. She was a constant source of love in their lives, showing up with quiet encouragement, affection, and the kind of presence that leaves a lasting imprint.
Martha was a Detroit Tigers fan through and through—faithful in every extra inning, weather delay, and painful rebuilding year. But don't mistake her loyalty for blind devotion. When the Tigers blew a lead, Martha let them hear it—from her living room. Her commentary was as fiery as it was funny, always keeping things interesting. Still, the crack of a bat and the hum of a radio broadcast drifting through a summer afternoon were pure joy to her. Baseball wasn't just a pastime—it was a passion, a tradition, and a lifelong love, even when they drove her nuts.
She also loved her music—really loved it—and was known for impromptu dance parties in the living room, often with her children, grandchildren, and anyone else nearby pulled into the rhythm. Those spontaneous, joy-filled moments became some of the most treasured memories, capturing her spirit in motion: full of life, fun, and connection.
Style and beauty came naturally to Martha. Her home was curated with care, her fashion sense effortless yet refined, and her hair and nails always impeccable—never for show, but as an expression of the pride she took in how she lived.
Martha didn't need to raise her voice to be heard. She led with grace, gave without expecting, and loved with quiet depth. Her legacy is woven into the everyday moments she made meaningful—the ones that seemed small at the time but now feel like everything.
Though she is no longer here, her presence remains—in traditions passed down, in the laughter of those she loved, in music echoing through a room mid-dance, and in the sound of a Tigers game playing softly in the background of a summer day.
Martha is survived by her loving children, Lindsey (Jeffrey) Dutka and Ryan (Becky) Davis; adored granddaughters, Emerson, Molly, and Parker; and beloved siblings, Karen (David) Forester, Laurie (Michael) Bingen, Howard (Dana) Schwartz.
Martha was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Joseph Davis (D.2018).
Please keep Martha and her family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
