Marilyn M. Welch, age 91, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2025, at Angela Hospice in Livonia, Michigan.

Marilyn was born November 10, 1933, in Plymouth, Michigan, the daughter of Garnet E. and Laura I. (Sutherland) Shea. Marilyn was raised in Detroit and was a 1952 graduate of Pershing High School.  On July 13, 1957, she married the love of her life, Patrick H. Welch, and together they built a life marked by devotion to family, hard work, love and appreciation.  Patrick preceded her in death on May 22, 2013.

Known by all who loved her as a dear and gracious woman, Marilyn was a trusted friend with an encouraging spirit, intelligent, with an accepting nature. She was a faithful Christian with a quiet strength. Independent, active, with a strong sense of humor, she loved shopping with the girls, going to the movies, dinners with family and friends, latte's, bowling, games, family dogs and cheering on her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids.  Marilyn's joy for life shone brightly in all she did.

She will be remembered most for her caring heart, and the unconditional love and encouragement she gave so freely to family and friends.

Marilyn is the beloved mother of Laurie (Phil) Charlet, John (Mindy) Welch and Paul (Sharon) Welch; cherished grandmother of Jennifer (Rodger) Davenport, Chris (Kelsey) Welch, Matt Charlet, Dan (Lisa) Welch, Drew (Carmen) Charlet, Shawn Welch, Austin Welch and Tyler Welch; great grandmother of Emma Davenport, Cameron Welch, Reid Davenport, Piper Welch, Ava Charlet and Kennedy Welch; and devoted sister of Colleen (Andy) Bristol and the late Donald Shea.

Marilyn and Patrick will be interred privately at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly.

Memorial tributes may be directed to Angela Hospice, Wounded Warrior Project or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
