Margery Jean
Farquhar
Aug 14, 1927 — Dec 22, 2025
Livonia
Margery Jean Farquhar was born on August 14, 1927, in Farmington Township, Michigan, the daughter of the late William Henry Morris and the late Lois Margret Morris (Richardson). From the very beginning, Margery's life was grounded in strength, kindness, and quiet wisdom—qualities she carried with grace throughout her life.
Margery was known for her steady values and timeless advice, one saying in particular that her family will forever cherish: "If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all." She lived those words daily, leading by example with compassion, humility, and respect for others.
Family always came first for Margery. She was a devoted mother who created a home filled with warmth, routine, and love. One of her children's most treasured memories was living just down the street from school—every day coming home for lunch, where their mom was always there with a meal ready. Those small but meaningful moments became lifelong memories and a true reflection of her devotion as a mother.
Margery deeply valued her friendships and community. She loved playing card games with friends, hosting movie nights, and enjoying game time filled with laughter. She was active in the Brownies and Girl Scouts, generously giving her time and guidance to young lives.
Her faith was a cornerstone of her life. An early member of Salem United Church of Christ in Farmington, Margery remained deeply connected to her church family. After losing her parents at a young age, the church helped guide her, shaping her strong moral compass and Christ-like way of life. Her faith remained a source of strength, comfort, and direction throughout her years.
Later in life, Margery found great joy as a member of the Generations Group at Corewell Health - Farmington Hills Hospital, where she enjoyed bus trips with friends, outings to restaurants, and shared adventures. Margery will be remembered as a woman of quiet strength, unwavering love, and gentle wisdom—someone who showed up for others, treasured her family, and lived her life with purpose and grace.
She is survived by her loving children, Eric Farquhar and Susan Farquhar; her adored grandson, Ross (Niki) Farquhar; her beloved great-grandchildren, Finley Farquhar and Sawyer; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Robert Morris and Richard Morris.
Visitation will take place on Monday, December 29, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 30, at 11:00 a.m. (In State at 10:00 a.m.) at Salem United Church of Christ, 33424 Oakland St., Farmington.

Please keep Margery and her family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
