Margaret S. Kime, age 78, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 30, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and devotion.
Born in Royal Oak on June 21, 1945, the daughter of Edwin and Margaret (Darroch) Schillag. Margaret dedicated her life to her family, community, and country.
A passionate advocate for education, Margaret found fulfillment as a dedicated volunteer at schools, enriching the lives of countless children with her kindness and wisdom. As a homemaker, she poured her heart and soul into raising her four beloved children, instilling in them values of compassion, resilience, and integrity.
Margaret's professional journey included serving as a meticulous bookkeeper at her family's building company, where her keen eye for detail and unwavering work ethic were invaluable assets.
A staunch patriot, Margaret held a deep reverence for her country and its principles. She exemplified her patriotism through her unwavering support for the nation's ideals and her active participation in community events and initiatives.
On November 8, 1969, Margaret united in marriage with the love of her life, Robert Kime, at the Royal Oak United Methodist Church. Together, they shared a bond built on mutual respect, love, and unwavering companionship—a partnership that served as an inspiration to all who knew them.
Margaret is the beloved wife of 54 years to Robert; loving mother of Greg (Wendy) Kime, Julia (Jacob) Callcut, Brian (Libby) Kime, and Matthew (Zaira) Kime; cherished grandmother of Nicholas, Emily, Maria, Maggie, Charlotte, Drew, Sofia, Charles, William, and Lucas; sister-in-law to Bobbie (the late George) Schillag and Roy (the late Sally) Farrough.
The Kime family will receive guests on Monday, April 1, 2024, 5-8 pm, at the funeral home.
A memorial service is planned for Tuesday, April 2, 10 am, also at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be directed to: seedlings.org (to honor her love of children, family, and reading) or the Salvation Army (to honor her love of helping others)
