Lynne Marie
Davies
Mar 20, 1956 — Mar 10, 2025
Farmington Hills
Lynne Davies was the kind of person who made life richer just by being in it. After a courageous year-long battle with lung cancer, she passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and generosity that will never be forgotten. She faced every challenge with grace, never letting it take away her warmth, strength, or sense of humor.
Born on March 20, 1956, in Dearborn, Michigan, to the late Wilbur and Dorothy Julet, Lynne grew up to be a woman who cherished family, friendship, and the simple joys of life. She married the love of her life, Dave, on March 21, 1975, and together they built a home filled with laughter, love, and the kind of friendships that turned into family. Their home was the heart of so many unforgettable moments—legendary poker nights, holiday celebrations, and birthday dinners where everyone got to pick their favorite meal, lovingly made by Lynne. She was the ultimate hostess, always making sure everyone felt welcome and cherished.
Lynne's love for life extended far beyond her home. She was an avid traveler, finding joy in exploring beautiful places with Dave and their family. Whether it was road trips in America, Italy, Portugal, Costa Rica, or anywhere with a beach, she loved nothing more than sitting in the sun with a book or her Kindle. Her last trip, to Surfside Beach, was especially meaningful, with some extended family joining in for what became a beautiful gathering—one final, perfect reflection of everything she loved most.
Golf was another passion that brought her happiness. She loved the game, not just for the competition but for the time spent outdoors, the friendships made, and the shared moments with Dave and friends. Whether she was on the course or watching a tournament, golf was one of the many things that brought her joy.
She had a way of making every holiday special, and her Christmas cookies were a tradition everyone looked forward to. Even while battling cancer, Lynne never stopped putting others first—and never let anything dull her sense of style. Her nails were always perfect, a small but powerful reminder of the grace and strength she carried through every part of her life.
Lynne had a fulfilling career, most notably as a trade broker and program manager for Sandler and Travis, managing operations in multiple GM facilities in Mexico. She worked hard, helped countless people find jobs, and was proud of the impact she made. She retired in 2020 and was happy to spend more time with the people she loved most.
Above all, Lynne was a devoted Nana, the creator of Nana Camp, and a proud fan at every grandchild's events. She was the glue that held the family together, keeping alive the traditions her mother began and making sure extended family and friends remained close. Her Poker Girls were loved like sisters. Her friend group was like no other and has been solid for 40+ years. Lynne loved and included everyone. Though she was a mother to three girls, she embraced many others as her own—especially her son-in-law, Greg and her many nieces and nephews.
This month would have marked 50 years of marriage to Dave, whom she married at Christ the King in Detroit. Though she left just shy of that milestone, their love story will continue in the hearts of all who knew them.
Lynne was the heart of her family and will be missed beyond words. But if there's one thing she taught us, it's that love doesn't end—it lives on and grows in the traditions, the memories, and the lives she touched.
Lynne is survived by her loving husband, Dave Davies; beloved daughters, Sarah Davies, Jessica Davies, and Meaghan (Greg) Sloup; adored grandchildren, Cameron Sloup, Grace Davies, and Cooper Sloup; many nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Angela Hospice to further honor Lynne's life.
A celebration of Lynne's life is being planned. Please check back for more details.
