Loretta T.
Bruni
Sep 27, 1937 — Sep 25, 2024
Loretta, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, entered eternal life on Wednesday evening, September 25, at Trinity Health Livonia Hospital. She was 86 years old.
Loretta was born September 27, 1937, in Detroit, to the late Fidenzio and Mary Venuto. She was preceded in death by husbands, Rudy Tomé in 1982, and Glen Bruni in 2000; and brothers, Harry (the late Judy) Venuto and Gary (Joanne) Venuto.
Loretta was the embodiment of warmth, fun, bravery, and quiet strength. She was fiercely protective of her loved ones, and her loyalty to those she cherished knew no bounds. Caring and devoted, she nurtured those around her with a generous heart.
A social butterfly, she loved gathering with friends for lunch at the Venetian Club as well as the Italian American Club, where her laughter and stories were always welcomed. Loretta enjoyed traveling, going on cruises, with Italy being one of her favorite destinations, and in her younger years, even golf. Even as life slowed down, she remained fiercely independent and truly "lived life" until recently.
Loretta was known for her exceptional cooking, especially her healthy dishes, antipasti, and various pasta sauces. She took great pride in her role as Nonna, and her grandchildren were the joy of her life. Her love for her children was felt deeply on every birthday when she would call them and sing her special song.
A dedicated volunteer, Loretta gave her time selflessly to various causes, with Angela Hospice holding a special place in her heart. Her tireless energy in service to others, combined with her unwavering love for her family and friends, leaves a legacy of kindness and compassion.
Surviving Loretta are three devoted children, Denise Marion, Diane Tomé and Greg (Jessica) Tomé; three cherished grandchildren, Jordyn Marion, and Brett and Brenden Tomé; as well as a host of friends.
Family and friends may gather at Heeney-Sundquist on Monday, September 30, where her funeral ceremony is scheduled for 1:00 pm. Her family will receive guests beginning at 10:00 am.
Private interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are kindly suggested to Angela Hospice, Livonia .
Loretta will be remembered for her zest for life, her nurturing soul, and her immense pride in her family. She was truly one of a kind, and she will be missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
