Lisa Ann Blazek, age 64, of Lakeview, MI, unexpectedly passed away in the early morning hours of September 30, 2026, leaving behind family and friends who loved her deeply and will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

To know Lisa was to know a woman who loved wholeheartedly. She loved without reservation, gave generously, and fiercely protected the people she held dear. She was, in turn, truly loved. Her absence leaves a unique space that cannot be filled.

Family defined Lisa’s life.

Lisa’s first and greatest love was her son, Stephen. With the support of her parents, John William and MaryAnn, she raised Stephen with unwavering devotion. He was her pride, her joy, and a piece of her heart. Their bond remained at the center of her life through every chapter and adventure. Lisa extended her affection to Stephen’s wife, Sarah, whom she welcomed into the family with her characteristic enthusiasm.

One of Lisa’s greatest joys was being Grandma to Trevor. She danced, played, explored, and adventured with him, embracing every moment. Family fishing trips became friendly competitions over who could catch the biggest and most fish. Lisa made sure everyone played fair and stayed well fed with plenty of watermelon. These memories will forever comfort her family.

Lisa shared a particularly close and cherished bond with her mother, MaryAnn. She treasured their daily phone calls that kept them connected through important events and ordinary days and everything in between. Their relationship provided a constant source of love and connection. Lisa similarly adored her brothers, John, Matthew, and Jimmy. She was deeply proud of them and their families, and adored her nieces and nephews. She celebrated their accomplishments, shared in their lives, and loved them fiercely.

On September 7, 2007, Lisa married Tom Blazek, her soulmate and the love of her life. They were inseparable, truly did everything together, always holding hands, a true partnership built on love, laughter, companionship, and devotion. They were happiest simply being together, and their marriage was a beautiful testament to the powerful happiness that comes from finding your special person and sharing a life side by side.

Lisa earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Eastern Michigan University and spent her career working for healthcare providers as a medical biller. She believed in giving back to her community, teaching catechism, and volunteering at Our Lady of Sorrows and Our Lady of La Salette Catholic Church when Stephen was young.

Lisa had a wonderful sense of adventure and found joy in experiencing life with loved ones. She enjoyed nature, gardening, boating, fishing, geocaching, skiing, traveling, discovering new places, and trying new restaurants. From visiting England with Stephen and MaryAnn to traveling in Africa with Tom and a horde of Barkachs, she embraced every opportunity to explore and create lasting memories.

She loved cooking for her family. Her special mashed potatoes were a Thanksgiving sensation, and Lobster Thermidor was a New Year’s tradition. For Lisa, gathering around a table was another way to bring the people she loved together.

Recently, Lisa and Tom purchased a home on Townline Lake, where she found a special happiness. She loved sitting on her patio overlooking the channel, watching and feeding the birds, and enjoying the wildlife. She adored her dogs, Skye and Rocco, who brought her constant companionship and joy.

Lisa was deeply protective of the people she loved. She cared intensely, loved generously, and gave freely of herself to her family and friends. She had a way of making the people around her feel loved, valued, and cared for. Her life was a gift. Her love is her legacy. She will remain forever in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have loved her.

There will be no replacing Lisa. There will only be learning how to carry her with us. Lisa will be deeply missed by her extended family, friends, and the many people whose lives she touched.

Lisa leaves behind her beloved husband and soulmate, Tom Blazek; her son, Stephen Dawson (Sarah); her cherished grandson, Trevor Dawson; her mother, MaryAnn Barkach; her brothers, John (Cynthia) Barkach, Matthew (Natalie) Barkach, and Jimmy (Chrissy) Barkach; her brothers-in-law, Fr. Dave Blazek, Larry (Judy) Blazek, Jim (Laura) Blazek; her sisters-in-law, Mary (Chris) Novak and Joanne Haberkamp (Tom); and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
