Leslie Rose
Van Hamme
Aug 8, 1994 — Aug 3, 2023
Novi
It is with heavy hearts and an impossible sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Leslie Rose Van Hamme, leaving us far too soon at the age of 28. She departed this world on Thursday, August 3, 2023. Leslie leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, kindness and devotion.
Leslie was born on August 8, 1994, in Southfield, the daughter to Bob and Marcia (Opperthauser) Van Hamme.
Leslie graduated in 2016 from Alma College, with her degree in History.
Leslie was a bright and shining light in our community, serving as an administrative assistant at her beloved church, First Presbyterian of Farmington, for several years. Her dedication to her faith and congregation knew no bounds; she also served as a Deacon and the Child Care Provider. Leslie poured her big heart and soul into ensuring the smooth functioning of the church, always with her warm smile and a kind word for everyone she encountered.
Leslie is the beloved daughter of Robert and Marcia Van Hamme; sweet sister of Lindsay (Joe) Patterson, Chuck (Jes) Van Hamme, Lauren (Justin) Koshak, and the late Robert F. Van Hamme; loving TeeTee of many nieces and nephews; cherished girlfriend of John Kimball, and proud fur-mama to Zeus and Willow. Leslie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Calvin and Rosemary Opperthauser, and Frank and Dorothy Van Hamme.
A memorial service to celebrate Leslie's life will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Farmington, 26165 Farmington Rd., Farmington Hills, on August 19th, 2023. The family will gather at 10:00 to begin receiving guests for the 11:00 am celebration of life, followed by a reception. All those who were touched by Leslie's presence are welcome to attend and pay their respects.
Memorial tributes are suggested to either First Presbyterian Church of Farmington or your local animal shelter in her honor.
