Lena Los, age 82 of Farmington, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at Angela Hospice Care Center, Livonia.

Lena was born in Danderyd, Sweden, the daughter of Birgit and Karl Karlén.

She is survived by her dear sons Richard and Robert (Racquel) Los; grandchildren Madelynne and Sophia Los; and beloved grandpets Sydney, Sissy, and Bubba.  She was preceded in death by her infinitely patient husband, Bernard Los.

Lena was born in Danderyd, Sweden and spent the first part of her life living in Nasbypark, Sweden.  As a young adult, she took advantage of an incredible opportunity to come to the US as an au pair for the Hartmann family.  This changed the direction of her life, as she soon decided to emigrate to America.

She met a number of lifelong friends as well as her future husband, Bernie, at the International Institute in Detroit, Michigan in the early 60s.  They married in 1965, and settled in Farmington, Michigan soon after.

Upon their retirement, they enjoyed traveling with their airstream trailer for 15 years.  They drove everywhere from the country of Panama to the state of Alaska. They also traveled the world, frequently returning to Europe to visit her sisters, Anna and Ulla and their families, and also visiting such exotic locales as Australia and New Zealand.

Lena's passion was her Swedish heritage, and she will be remembered with great fondness at the Swedish Club in Farmington Michigan.  She died peacefully in her sleep in the presence of her sons Robert and Richard, listening to her favorite band of all time ABBA.

A celebration of life will take place Saturday, June 8, 2 pm, at Swedish Club of Southeastern Michigan, 22398 Ruth St., Farmington Hills, MI 4833 6 .
