Obituary

Leah L. Brancheau, loving mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister and friend, passed into eternal life, surrounded by those she loved, early Tuesday morning, December 20, 2022, at Beaumont Hospital, Farmington Hills. She was 84 years old and hospitalized for seven weeks.

Leah was born September 1, 1938, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Lawrence and Carol (McConchie) Nathan.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 40 years, James, on June 24, 1999.  Leah was deeply devoted to her family, friends and community and could be consistently found serving others.  She treasured her family and friendships and enjoyed her longtime membership in the Groves Walker Post #346 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Farmington.  May her kind and generous soul rest in peace.

Surviving are three devoted children, James (the late Debbie) Brancheau, Paul Brancheau, and Beth (Mark) Gentile; four siblings, Glen (Kay) Nathan, Kirt (Nancy) Nathan, Dale (Edward) Vecchio, and Lora (James) Homuth; four grandchildren, Cortney (Brett Gutierrez) Brancheau, Joseph (Nicolle) Brancheau, Alex (Jenna) Gentile, and Adam (Kirsten) Gentile; and five great-grandchildren, Sawyer and Piper Gutierrez, James Brancheau, and Leina and Aro Gentile; and one more great-grandchild on the way for Alex and Jenna.

The Brancheau family will receive guests at the Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home, downtown Farmington, on Tuesday, December 27, from 2-8 pm, and again Wednesday morning from 9-10:30 am.

A Ladies Auxiliary Memorial Ceremony is planned for Tuesday afternoon at 4 pm.

Leah's funeral ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday morning, 10:30 am, also at Heeney-Sundquist.

A procession to Glen Eden Memorial Park, Livonia, will immediately follow the funeral ceremony.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Groves Walker Post #346 American Legion, Farmington.

Kindly keep Leah and her family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
