Larry taxied down the runway, departing on September 15, 2023, at the age of 85.

Larry was born in Peoria, Iowa, February 24, 1938, the son of the late Verna and Ralph Cole.

Those who know him understand that mere words could never adequately describe him.  Larry is remembered best by how he lived.

His titles are almost too numerous to list.  However, his most cherished were husband to his loving wife, Colleen, father to his son, Mark, brother to Mary and Stephen Liroff, and uncle to Josh, Meghan, and Kaitlin Liroff.  Not to mention, life long friend (and sometimes accomplice) to Lawrence Farrugia.

Second only to Larry's love of his family and friends is his love of the sky.  He was a pilot for over 50 years, and described as "a legend" in the industry by his long-time co-workers.  Larry reveled in slipping the bonds of Earth, soaring into the blue, and always touching down to return to those he loved.

Irrespective of the numerous achievements Larry attained over the course of his life, his legacy is one of love.  If you entered Larry's universe, he took you under his wing for life.  He always showed up.  His selflessness extended to all, and if there was anything he could do to help, he did it, whether you asked him or not.  He helped with unbridled joy.

Larry touched more lives than anyone could count.  It did not matter if you were family, a friend, a co-worker, or one of the countless kids on the baseball teams he coached over the years.  Larry made sure you knew that you were special, valued, and that he would be there for you no matter what.

Dad, you always made sure we laughed and, no matter what, to never give up.  We love you and you will be missed.
