Kirk Stephen
Rado
Aug 18, 1951 — Mar 14, 2023
Farmington Hills
Kirk Stephen Rado, age 71, passed away unexpectedly on March 14, 2023 – his big, gentle heart just gave out.
Kirk was born in Berea, Ohio, on August 18, 1951, the son of the late Zolton Thomas Rado and June (White) Rado.
For someone who was given medical advice to put his name on a heart transplant list at the age of 50, he lived a much longer life than what many expected. Kirk chose not to put his name on the list. He truly wanted to do things his way and he did, leaving quite an impression with those lives he touched.
Kirk's "big" personality took on many forms. No matter where he found himself, Kirk tried to connect with people no matter what age or background, most of the time through humor, sometimes with music. He was generous in many ways, personally giving flowers/ plants to known and unknown people, food to those in need, and unique home furnishings. Kirk loved building bird houses, watching the deer, and enjoyed the family pets, especially the family dog Casey, and the family cat Skidder.
Kirk revealed his talents with landscaping, home reconstruction, renovating a barn, sketching and outdoor BBQ and smoking meats- tending to details unique to his style. He found a way to create and see beauty in places most would overlook; he led with his heart in that way.
Kirk's favorite places to visit - Grand Canyon, Crazy Horse Monument and with family and friends.
Kirk leaves behind his beloved wife, Anna Cullen Rado; sons, Ryan Rado and Eric Rado; dear grandson, Harrison Rado; loving mother, June Rado; sisters, Karla (Tom) Richey and Erika Rado; brothers, Mark Rado and Paul Rado; sister-in-law, Karen Rado; along with 10 nieces & nephews and their families. Kirk was preceded in death by sister, Lisa Barrie; and brother, Glenn Rado.
Please keep Kirk and his family in your prayers during this difficult time.
