Obituary

Kathleen Diane Adams, 79, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 15, 2025.

Kathleen was born on September 11, 1945, in Detroit to August and Carmen Contreras.

Kathy married Michael Adams on February 25, 1978, and together with God, they began their life journey.  Over the years, they became committed parents and foster parents to many children, providing love and care that will not soon be forgotten. She was also deeply committed to her church family, Faith Bible Church, where she was an active member, especially in the Women's Bible Study and Nursery.

Kathy was a proud Police Wife and Police Mother, always supportive of her family's service to the community. She had a special love for rose bushes, her grandchildren and her grand dogs, finding joy in the beauty of life's simple pleasures.

In her professional life, Kathy worked as a proctor at the Detroit Board of Education, a school secretary, and office manager at a physical therapy office.  Her dedication to her work and her students left a lasting impact on those who knew her.

Kathy's love for travel was evident, particularly in her cherished trips to Israel, which were among the highlights of her adventures. Above all, Kathy was a truly loving wife, mother, and grandmother always putting family first and nurturing the relationships that meant the most to her.

Kathy's warm heart, kind spirit, and devotion to her loved ones will be deeply missed. She leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and faith that will continue to inspire all who knew her.  In other words, she left many ripples in the vast pond of her life.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Michael; daughters, Melissa Adams, Erin (Mike) Pinkleton, and Amberly Pinkleton; her granddaughters, Savanna and Grace; a son through adoption, Stephen Morgan; along with her siblings, Tom (Lila) Contreras, Mario (Gerry) Contreras, Ron (Lucy) Contreras, Mary Carpenter, Linda (Ed Updyke) Contreras, and Catalina (Joe) Germaine; and brothers-in law, Jack Hartley and Jerry Donaldson.  Kathy was preceded in death by sisters, Nora Schuster, Helen Wisniewski, Fran Hartley, and Anita Donaldson.

Kathy's family will receive guests at the Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home on Friday, February 21, from 1pm-8 pm.

A home going service is planned for Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 11 am, at Faith Bible Church, 23414 Orchard Lake Road, Farmington Hills.

Memorial tributes in lieu of flowers are suggested to Angela Hospice of Livonia or Detroit Rescue Mission.
