Judith Ann Sclabassi, "Judi" (nee Bernath), age 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Angela Hospice Care Center, Livonia, MI.

Judi was born in Detroit, MI, October 9, 1943, the daughter of the late Sylvia and William Bernath.

Judi shared 62 loving years of marriage with her beloved husband, Geno, whose partnership and devotion were the foundation of their family. Judi was a loving mother to Anthony Sclabassi, who preceded her in death in 2007, Gary Sclabassi (Angela), and Michael Sclabassi (Jennifer). She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Marc, Bryan, Megan, Emma, and Alex, each of whom brought immense happiness to her life.

She was also a cherished sister, aunt, sister-in-law, and friend whose warmth extended far beyond her immediate family. She had a remarkable ability to light up every room with her positivity, energy, and radiant smile. Her kindness, laughter, and unwavering love touched countless lives and created memories that will be treasured forever.

Judi especially loved traveling and spent many wonderful years boating with family and friends, creating lifelong memories on the water. In recent years, one of her greatest joys was spending time at their beloved cottage on Hubbard Lake, where she cherished peaceful days, family gatherings, and the company of those she loved most. She also greatly enjoyed lunches and time spent with her close friends, whose companionship brought her much happiness throughout the years.

Her family will remember her for her strength, generosity, deep love for family traditions, and the way she made everyone feel welcomed and and valued. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit will continue to shine through all who knew and loved her.

The Sclabassi family will receive friends Tuesday, May 19, 2-8 pm, with a rosary at 7 pm, at the funeral home.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 20, 10 am (in state 9:30 am) at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 23615 Power Road, Farmington.

Following the funeral mass, a luncheon is planned at the Huron River Club, 22575 Farmington Road, Farmington.

Judi will be entombed at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, Brownstown, MI, privately with her family in attendance.

In lieu of flowers her family suggests donations to be made to American Cancer Society in her name.
